Although I say that I did not use Evernote every day in class there were times in which I was researching for Education 102 in which I found being able to clip possible sources quiet helpful so I could refer back to them days later without having to read the entire article. But for me I never became comfortable with Evernotes formatting. I did not figure out how to use the notebooks or tags in a way that helped me, rather they made me feel more scattered than I was before.

My most difficult class by far was Honors Ethics at Play. This was most likely because I could not use my laptop or phone during class some type of penalty. This resulted in my option of using Evernote to be eliminated. I never made a conscience discussion to not use Evernote but having one of my two other classes be Math, it did not seem useful to being using my personal knowledge base for just Communication Fundamentals, and Education 102. I did not feel that using Evernote would help me broaden my knowledge more so than just taking hard notes.

Personally for me, I am much more excited by the possibility of using the Smart Pen because for my major being math and secondary education I see this being much more helpful. I can see that in a large lecture when the teacher is both presenting a power point and teaching from it, this could be very helpful cause I have trouble trying to write both what the teacher is saying and the power point down in my notes. Not only for my math notes but I could see second semester this also benefitting me in my Psychology 113. This piece of technology will also be very helpful in my classes such as calculus where the teacher is explaining his work as he writes because I will be able to come to a full understanding of the class that I am not receiving right now. I will also potentially be able to add my notes from Smart Pen onto my computer so with math classes that build on top of each other I will be able to reference these notes in the future and not worry about finding a place to keep them on my desk!

I wanted to mention that although I have not been using Evernote to its full advantage, I have been loving using Zetero. Although some websites will not directly link to Zetero, it is very helpful to be able to enter the information from the website and be able to change the format from MLA to APA format. My only regret relating to Zetero is that I was not aware of this tool earlier, such as in high school!

Overall, although I personal made the decision to not use Evernote I do not think it speaks to Dr. Folgleman's ability to show us how to use this, but rather I knew there was not much opportunity for me to be able to use Evernote in my other classes. I felt any notes that I would take on it would be lost because they would not be connected at all with my other notes. I choose to instead write notes in the books that were reading and discussing in Education 102. For me this works better when I'm looking back at my work. When it came time for research I just put my notes in a simple word document, because this where I would later write my reflection/paper from.
